No Yaw At All
All,
Anybody else experience this? - The YAW (360) platform doesn't actually do anything, although it does pass power through it up to the pitch and roll platform as well as all the lights working.
The app doesn't let you do anything on that axis, it's as if I don't even have the yaw platform plugged in. Is there somewhere I have to update in the app to say that it has that platform installed?
Thanks for any info that can be shared.

Could this be due to shorting out the two pins in the usb breakout box? Once you receive your replacement box please let me know if Yaw unit comes to life.
This is actually 2 separate issues. The unit moves in pitch & roll, just nothing with the 360 platform. The emergency switch noted in the other discussion is not related.
Prior to adding the jumper, the whole unit was just stuck in "Emergency Switch" - meaning it thought the magnet was not present at all. Closing that circuit made the unit activate and work as intended. The exception here, is the 360 platform. It does nothing.
Completely separate issue.
Please can you check the cables and slip ring. Also turn on Bluetooth on your phone for the yawvr app so the yaw unit can communicate. Make sure you have all permissions selected in app settings if it needs. Factory reset the yaw2 including the app and set it up again to see if the units communicate as one. Once set up go into the app and do a test. If you're still having problems please create ticket with support. Thank you
This isn't the problem at all. It's communicating fine.
The unit is communicating.
I have control over pitch and roll.
The unit knows it's yaw position, it changes when i move the chair manually.
All this is reflected in the app.
When i move the yaw slider in app, nothing happens. The other axis' work just fine.
When I perform the "test" in the app, all axis move except the yaw.
Please can you try what I suggested as you don't know if you don't try. Thank you
@usslindstrom Can you look at the latest Yaw2 manual and go through it making sure rotation unit is fully connected. Also check the power supply unit to check correct voltage by using the slider. Thank you
Everything is connected. I have not opened the rotation platform yet.
What is the factory reset procedure? This isn't documented anywhere I can find.
Factory reset is reinstall yawvr config app and try again.
This issue has been resolved. In this case, inside the rotation platform itself, there was a disconnected wire that connects a set of power to the stepper motor driver.
Contact support before anybody else does these steps: But, the rotation platform can be accessed from the bottom side. There are 8 hex flush-mount bolts that need to be removed, then the boards and motor are all accessible. The power leads that connect the stepper drive board were simply disconnected. *Pic attached.
For anyone with this same issue who may consider opening up the rotation platform, do yourself a favor and get a 2nd person to help. My neighbors probably learned a few new words while I was trying to get everything off/on and realigned. It's not normal to get angry at inanimate objects, but here we are - and I likely taught the neighbors some new words they never heard before. In any case, reach out to support before you do anything on the unit, it's likely you may not have to open it up like I did, as I suspect that these sorts of issues will absolutely be ironed out in the future.
Oh - need to mention, the label for the plug location is the one marked "PWM1". Didn't mention that in the original post, but it's the only place that the wires will reach anyway.
Good to hear that you managed to fix the issue. I did mention to check if everything was connected 😉. They need to glue those cables in with silicone glue. Well done anyway and I hope you're enjoying it now. Also thanks for leaving your remedy here for others if they have the same symptoms.
@usslindstrom I've just let Yaw VR know about the yaw rotation platform QA issue. I've suggested them to check PWM1 cable is installed and glued in on pcb before releasing to customers. Thank you for your valuable information.
I have a new Yaw2 Pro 3DOF and get the EMERGENCY SWITCH error. No motors will run( yaw, pitch and roll). Communication appears to work OK and the app shows yaw, pitch and roll activity when I manually move all/any of them them. I have not yet disassembled to check plugs, etc.. The orange magnet is in place but there are no lights on the USB box as well as power so I am thinking that there may be a power/connection issue to the USB box. I am an electrical engineer(BSEE) and would really like to get some circuit diagrams for this. Is this would be possible? I also see that an SDK is available. Is there any source code available also?

Where Does This Loose Cable Plug In? See photo. I think this could be causing the EMERGENCY SWITCH problem on my YAW Pro 3DOF

Hello, That cable from your photo looks to be ethernet cable.
I opened the case and followed the cable from the USB box, I found that it was connected to a female/female Rj45 connector which was not connected to anything on the other female end. When I connected this to the white RJ45 cable that is in the bundle connecting the pitch/yaw assembly, the unit powered up with all motors working. Now I am trying to get the USB box to work, I has power and lights up, but the USB ports are not working. I also installed the game engine and it connected up to the Yaw and communicates correctly(I think) with XPlane 11 and 12.
IF support will contact me maybe we can figure this out and get this critter firing on all cylinders. <VBG>

I would remove the usb internal cable and reseat it in both usb box and Yaw unit. If it's still not working then I suggest that you try another usb cable to see if that's the issue. Thanks
Sorry, I was not clear. The ethernet cable from the USB box was not connected to anything inside my unit when it arrived.
When I connected it to the white RJ45 cable inside the flexible bundle, everything started working.
Oh good I'm glad that my advice managed to help you. Thanks
Now I need to know where SHOULD the cable FROM the USB box connect to ?
.... painful.
a month into it working - very lightly, and now the pitch doesn't work at all.
Really tired of this thing already.
